November Snow

It snowed today! (Still is snowing, actually…) I love snow, but I was supposed to go to a party and it stopped that from happening… I’m still in a good mood, though; I can’t help it. I think it has something to do with lingering childhood memories of snow days: being off school and sledding down the hill in the front yard.

I celebrated by making an abstract expressionist snowman. It was going to be a regular snowman, but the balls were rolling HUGE after just a few steps and I couldn’t lift them. Some people across the street made what looks like a seven foot monster, and I have no idea how they built it without a crane, haha.

Another update! (Finally…) I added in the shell and made the wave more wavish. I might do more with the shell. I kind of want it to look like it’s gold plated, so maybe I’ll beef up the contrast a bit. I had a bunch of extra yellow on my brushes after I was done, so I just smeared it around on the sand, but now I don’t like it there very much. When it dries I’ll make it a nice brown again, I think. The whole right side of the painting is a problem right now. I’m not sure what I’ll do there, but something needs to be done.
