Back from Oregon

Alien Landscape

So, I’m still picking away at this game. It’s come a little ways. If you’ve played Ether Space Defense (all 3 of you, lol) the background might be familiar. :D

It’s gonna be a traditional sort of platformer: hopping and bopping your way to glory. There are too many puzzle platformers these days. I dunno about you guys but I’ve gotten a little sick of them.

In other news, I took a trip to Oregon a few weeks ago. It’s very woodsy and mountainy and oceany out there…gotta love it! I think I’m planning a move for next year now. Maybe I’ll be inspired to make another WaS when I’m surrounded by real life examples, lol.

Looks great, that stuff! So, from the background image and the rather barren landscape, is it safe to assume that the story plays on some kind of moon, perhaps with a thin atmosphere and low gravity? Possibly terraformed by the alien’s civilization, but then lost?

  • Luke

Hey that’s pretty close to what I was thinking actually! The story will be more about discovery, though. I hadn’t considered terraforming.

I want to do multiple backgrounds, so I think it’s a moon stuck in some weird gravitational anomaly where it has two large planets rotating around it. If two stars can rotate around a common gravitational center, I assume two planets could too. :D
