I’m still working on my Zelda type game. Here’s the main character (name: Blade?) firing off his main attack. Instead of swinging swords around he’s gonna be a warrior mage. :D *piew* *piew*
P.s. Everyone go sign my petition! We need to stop abuse of the trademark of “Tower Defense”! I’ve got 97 signatures right now, but we can do much better!

So I usually don’t do this sort of thing, but this one has always pissed me off…
There’s a company that actually trademarked the name “tower defense” and they’ve been using it to send DMCA notices to people in the Apple app store! It’s been going on for a couple of years, and I would have though that by now SOMETHING would have been done about it. I haven’t heard anything, though, so I decided to try out a Change.org petition. If you sign it, it’ll sent Com2Us (the company) an email saying you’re going to boycott their products unless they agree to stop enforcing their trademark. Let’s fill up their inbox!
GO GO GO!
P.S. The Naked Alien is gonna be released sometime next week! :D

Soooo, I guess the site was down for a while and that new post I made dissipapparated into thin air! Sorry if anyone’s posts vanished along with it. I uploaded the backup, but it doesn’t seem to have everything.
Oh well! Here’s a picture of Jake because I like Adventure Time.

Barring any unforeseen vacations (those happen to me a lot :3), here’s the schedule I’ve been working from. I’m three days behind, but hey, it’s an arbitrary deadline anyway! ^^

So I noticed adobe released a new version of Flash recently, and they’ve added a special “constrained mode” to Stage3D that allows for most graphic cards past 2006! So, since I did a bit of a test before to see how available it was to people, I’d like to do it again.
Make sure you have flash version 11.4 (you can download it here), then click this link and scroll down to the little flash movie at the bottom. It should say something like “your gpu supports Stage3D in Constrained profile but not Baseline profile” if it’s running in constrained mode.
I’m thinking I’ll try converting my tile system over to this and see what kind of speed boost I can get. It could be impressive, and since the GPU support is much more tolerant now, it should run for most people.

Wow, that last post was my 50th blog post! I’ve been a “blogger” for 2 years now, haha! Though, I’m not sure it counts since I post, like, once a month, LOL.
Here’s a new screenshot of the game. This blog is gonna be full of spoilers by the end, I think, but that’s okay. You guys don’t like surprises anyway, right? The little green guy is a bouncing enemy. *BOING*
I’m going to be using this song in the game for the blue planet levels, and Buoy is making me a second one for the red planet levels (as seen here). Really, this post is just an excuse to give him a screenshot so I’ma go play videogames now. :3

I didn’t spend too much time on this. I wanted to see how well I could incorporate a scan with something digital. It turned out…okay, but I was silly and used my old Fireworks MX, lol. I’m sure this sort of thing would work out a lot better in Artrage. I’ll have to do another few experiments to see if I can get it where I want.
Anyway, I was thinking about making a William and Sly comic book, so this seems like a viable method.

So, I’m still picking away at this game. It’s come a little ways. If you’ve played Ether Space Defense (all 3 of you, lol) the background might be familiar. :D
It’s gonna be a traditional sort of platformer: hopping and bopping your way to glory. There are too many puzzle platformers these days. I dunno about you guys but I’ve gotten a little sick of them.
In other news, I took a trip to Oregon a few weeks ago. It’s very woodsy and mountainy and oceany out there…gotta love it! I think I’m planning a move for next year now. Maybe I’ll be inspired to make another WaS when I’m surrounded by real life examples, lol.

I’ve been looking at the Unity game engine over the last few days, and I’m amazed at how easy it is to make a 3D game these days! I’m thinking I MUST try it out on something. The only downside is that it’s REALLY expensive for the pro version which has all the sexy features to make your games look awesome.
Soooo, I’m wondering if anyone has tried any other editors and could recommend one. I think I’ll try out Torque3D and NeoAxis to see how they compare. They’re much less expensive and sound like they have similar features, but we’ll see, I suppose…

I think I’m gonna do some simple pixel art for my next game. Maybe challenge myself NOT to go overboard with the graphics…lol.
I’ve been using GraphicsGale to fool around with some pixel animations, and it’s actually pretty fun! It has all the export tools I need to make sprite sheets, so I think I’ll use it. :3

This just might be the main character in my next game. We’ll see what happens. For some reason he looks like a Johnny to me, haha.
P.s. Tiki man idea still possible. Await further notice.
P.p.s. I did an interview with JiG! Scroll down a bit. :3
